EUTOPIA is inviting students to submit papers for the 'Multilingualism & Diversity' student conference

The Multilingualism & Diversity Conference that will take place on July 12, 2023 is an opportunity to gain experience presenting your research to a supportive student community, deepen your knowledge and to network with peers who share similar academic interests. The deadline for submitting a draft paper (200-300 words) is April 17, 2023.

In today’s globalised world, mobility is part of the fabric of society, and multilingual communication and cross-cultural contact part of the daily reality in all domains of human activity. At the same time, multilingualism is still not valued and often seen as a ‘problem’ or ‘threat’ to social cohesion. In this context, the second student conference of the EUTOPIA Learning Community on Multilingualism and Diversity is focused on intercultural dialogue and linguistic in/exclusion. This online conference seeks to provide students with a platform to present their work to further develop our understanding of the subject matter, gain new insights and ideas, and develop further research skills.

We invite papers on Multilingualism, which are related, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • The Professional World
    • such as: business, healthcare, the workplace, etc.
  • Global Issues
    • such as: intercultural communication, immigration, crisis communication, multilingualism in public spaces, etc.
  • Translation
