Become a member of the EUTOPIA Alliance’s Young Leaders Academy Programme

As a member of the EUTOPIA alliance, University of Ljubljana is inviting post-doctoral researchers to apply for the Young Leaders Academy programme (YLA). The purpose of the YLA call is to support research exchanges between high-potential, early to mid-career researchers from all EUTOPIA partner universities and support their career development. 

Eligible candidates are early to mid-career researchers, between 2 to 12 years after PhD completion employed at one of the 10 EUTOPIA universities: University of Ljubljana, the University of Warwick, University of Gothenburg, Vrije Universitat Brussel, Pompeu Fabra University, NOVA University Lisbon, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Cergy Paris University, Technische Universität Dresden and Babeș-Bolyai University. Members of the EUTOPIA Young Leaders Academy constitute a community of promising independent research leaders at the scale of EUTOPIA, sharing and promoting European values and the EUTOPIA vision of an interconnected academic environment. The members are appointed for a period of 2 years. The University of Ljubljana will choose up to two candidates, whose names will be submitted to the YLA committee, who will define the final list of the YLA candidates at the level of the EUTOPIA alliance. The chosen candidates will start their mandates with November 2023. The financial support for researcher mobility during the mandate is 5000€. 

EUTOPIA Young Leaders Academy Fellows will be given the opportunity: 

  • To develop their research leadership skills through a dedicated training programme; 
  • To take part in interdisciplinary scholarly exchange and research networking activities, among Fellows and with the broader EUTOPIA research community; 
  • To initiate research collaborations within the EUTOPIA Alliance 
  • To contribute to the development of a challenge-based and student-shaped curriculum, through the development of research-led learning units open to undergraduate and graduate students; 
  • To act as EUTOPIA ambassadors, contributing to the Alliance’s activities and fostering the emergence of an integrated research community at the EUTOPIA scale.
