Extracurricular activities

With the academic year 2022/2023, the University of Ljubljana introduced the accredited Extracurricular activity within the context of the EUTOPIA alliance. The study program is available here.

Students who register the Extracurricular activitiy as part of their program can choose among the three ways of program implementation:

  • as an elective worth 4ECTS;
  • as a diploma supplement;
  • as a participation certificate.

In order to successfully finish the activity, the registered students must meet the following conditions:

  • participation in at least two international events organised by the EUTOPIA alliance (e.g. EUTOPIA Student Think Thank, BeEUTOPIAn, ICUR, Learning communities…);
  • participation in at least one of four modules offered in the field of public speaking, bid writing, project management etc.;
  • preparation and presentation of an internal report (600 words).

The Extracurricular activity consists of two parts. The first part mandates participation in international events organised by or in connection to the EUTOPIA alliance. An updated list of available activities can be found here (the list is not exhaustive). The second part consists of modules. The lectures are held every three weeks and last around 3 hours each. Expected workload is divided between 9 hours in class (seminars, workshops, group projects) and 30 hours out-of-class (reading, preparation for the lectures, reports, etc.).

The schedule for the modules is available here

All registered students will also have an opportunity to receive the EUTOPIA Certificate of Internationalisation (EUCI), which is offered by the University of Warwick. The students eligible for the EUCI must complete the following activities:

  • participation in the coaching sessions,
  • preparation of a reflective portfolio (3000 words).
